The New York Times
To co uważacie:
David F - I have a question. We have guides here in the U.S. Denali, Hood, Rainer. If
a Rainer guide dies, how much does my Government give his family? Now I am
just a computer engineer. But I know if I died at work, my Government
wouldn't give my family money. So I'm just curious about this mentality.
davidca96 - Regardless of the political bull, it hurts my heart seeing this man full of
life and knowing this was his last minutes on earth. There's something
about him, might sound silly but he really looked like a genuinely good
person and he certainly had a loving family who are destroyed by this.
Everest is a beast, and she just like a wild animal strikes without warning
sometimes. Rest in Peace Sherpa's, you are some of the bravest men on this
planet.
Cali Beeson - RIP Sherpas
Peace be with them
I have no sympathy for the tourists interviewed in this video who were
mourning over the money they lost. Climbing is not easy
Tsubasa Reservoir - I doubt many would even reach the summit without the Sherpas help
ballsofthecave - The guy at 3:40 sounds like a total piece of trash, comparing his loss of
money to the lives lost and families in mourning.
kubek w - I wonder if that south african asshole could climb everest without the help
of sherpas
Freddy Acosta - Really, $400 bucks? Geez!
D Smith - This is a living standards issue more than anything. It's not like
climbers are kidnapping sherpas and forcing them to guide them up the
mountains. They are taking these very dangerous jobs because it pays way
better than trying to grow crops on those tiny farms in the hills where the
fields are on a 30 degree slope. By all means they should negotiate much
higher wages, but there would always be those willing to undercut the
higher rate.
Even then I'm not terribly convinced that more modernization is even better
for these people. Trekking through the hills there in 2009, I felt that
the lower tech villages (Deorali?) were much happier than the ones with TV
(Numtala?) where the kids were watching some kind of Nepali "gangsta rap"
all afternoon. But then again I don't have to till those fields by hand
...
Luther Lubi - Typical of a white South African; all about himself. People just died, you
f#$%$n tosser!!!
Themistokles V - Sherpas have saved many lives on Everest and elsewhere
Frisky Turtlez - One of the worst ways to die. Yet the best way to die, like a hero.
Simeon Banner - Big ego western people... Disgrace.
Vivek Patel - 400$!!! What the fcuk
globe255 - Being trained I meant if you are in good physical and mental form.
Manoj Subedi - Too bad for my people especially to the sherpas..
Saru Nation - :,(
Lisa Foos - God bless the Sherpa of Everest. They are the heart of the mountain.
Poor families. They are in my prayers.
YouTube Nation - Thanks for this inside look into Sherpa's and the dangers they face
everyday.
MsKTMvalley - New York Times thank you so much for the news coverage. As I said in
previous comments, I'm Sherpa myself, and hearing news from my country
always opens my eyes. You documented some great interviews in this footage
and imagery of Lukla, Nepal too. Thank you. Hope the families will make it
through these tough times.
Rexo Tutini - The realization that the cost of a sherpas Life is priceless....High
Spirits
Johnny Chimpo - Oh such brave heroes this guys that "climb" the Everest with a couple of
local guys carrying all of their stuff. Sherpas are the unsung heroes.
Yacou93 - RIP Everest Soldiers
Jeff Lea - That idiot being interviewed was right about one thing: It makes no sense
at all, he said after commenting that some of those idiots had paid $100K
for this climb.
