Wolf Grimes - at 5:35, who else sees the death face at the death zone.
Shika Maru - Edmund Hillary and his "climbing partner"? His name was Tenzing Norgay. I
think you should show respect for someone who did the exact same thing that
Hillary did but happened to be Nepalese instead of a Westerner.
Catherine H - Shame on you for not mentioning the name of Tenzing Norgay when mentioning
the first people summiting Everest! The sherpa's are the real heroes on
Everest, that is commonly known. Besides this the number of people dying, 1
out of 6, is not correct.
MrClean417 - rich people problems
Stuart Grandquist - @strake750
Couldn't agree more, having a short ceremony then pushing them down the
mountain, how disrespectful can you get. I can understand their families
agreeing to leave their bodies on the mountain but to push them off them
down the mountain is unbelievable.
Lene Gammelgaard - Array
Reece Harrison - Freaky
William Robinson - Went to school with Joe Tasker,he has been up there since 1982.
ted simonson - Is that REALLY Hannelore Schmatz at 9:37 ??? I thought that there were no
pictures in existence of her body on Everest ??
Indarog - okie dokie.... so much for sleeping tonight.
Redshiftdazzler Cyn - It's actually really sad. :(
Kedbuka - Short but very heavy, very interesting documentary. Thank you for posting
it.
strake750 - I find it highly disrespectful that some jerk went up there and pushed all
the corpse's over the edge, like soldiers they should be left where they
fell
Anne Roberts - Frances Arsentiev who got separated from her husband and fell. He climbed
to take oxygen and try to help but apparently fell himself and was never
seen again. Two people tried to help her but as they could not get her on
to her feet they could not help her. If you do a search for Frances
Arsentiev you will see more about her and photos.
Benny Craig - No, I've never climbed it, i just found it fascinating.
Kyle Nelson - Creepy. But amazing place
brianstacync - so mor ethan 5,000 have made the summit, but you say 1 dies for every six
who summit. then you say 200 have died on the mountain. your math DOES NOT
add up bro.
Marlene McGovern - Everest is a sacred Mt. One must respect and be humble.
David Palmer - Who is the body. @10:17 aprox.
Osi Mara - just to clarify people , David sharp did not die in 1996, he died in 2006
and his body is still next to green boots who died in 1996.
geile sau - thx
D0GSHOW - Marko Lihteneker
David Palmer - Looks as if mr boardman died of exposure.poor man how old was he and how
did he end up with no hat or head protection or sleaves.
Benny Craig - I will see what I can come up with as far as the 12:30 mark, all I have is
phone which doesn't count the time. And last I knew, Rob hall was buried by
the Hillary Step, but I'll check on that too. Glad you liked it.
otowel - very interesting
Mavris Law - Hey Tully, glad you refer to Norgay as "his guide". That should tell you
all you need to know about who the superior climber was.
Don Sitjaipetch - Fascinating video, thanks for making it. I've become very interested in
Everest since reading 'Into Thin Air' a few months ago. Is that Rob Halls
body in the blue down suit do you know? I'm very interested also in putting
names to bodies. You don't know the name of the person around the 12.30
mark?
Mark Woolveridge - A well put together video. Thanks for posting.
George Mavris - What is with the UTTER DISRESPECT towards TENZING NORGAY - referred to by
the narrator as Sir Edmund Hillary and "his climbing partner". The way I
see it, the first picture of anyone standing on the summit is that of
Norgay NOT Hillary. In any event, Tenzing deserves better he is part of the
first ascent.
margus kiis - In 90s a Kszahstan-Japan expedition found all their gear intact in asnow
cave. The expedition, also losing a member, found Boardman body later and
took some monochrome pictures of it. The pic here is not one of them. I
suppose it is taken 1995 by a japanes expedition . What is strange the
downsuit is blue in the pic but Boardman used to wear red one. But other
way its looks like Kazahstanians description: sitting pose; sholder and an
hand exposed; face is mummy-like.
David Palmer - Sad very sad especialy about the canadian woman her husband also died.
Benny Craig - Wow...being offended over innocuous narration. Was it disrespectful when
the Nepalese people gave his guide a parade and excluded Hillary? He only
paid for the whole expedition.
coldbringer666 - Great clip. You have managed to catch the mood but still keeping the
respect for the dead. Kudos to You.
David Palmer - I know this sounds morbid but can anybody have photo of the body of
francys. At 10:17.its buging me.oh and by the way tully heath have you
climbed everest yourself.
margus kiis - He was 32. I think he was killed the most evil danger especially for
experienced pro mountaineers: the high altitude psychosis -- you just get
insanity or deep depression. He was climbing with Joe Tasker on very
dangerous road by Everest pinnacles to the summit. The others mountaineers
had been retired due the bad feelings and sicknesses and observed their
climbing through telescopes. One moment they just disappear around the
"corner" and never appear again.
idalgleish87 - 11:09 K2?
Benny Craig - If you count the sucsessful summits compared to the majority of deaths,
from the 1920's to the 1980's, it is approximately one in 6, that is the
time when the majority of people died there. Of course with more and more
people climbing every year that ratio changes, but it has only been a
little over a decade that the death rate has dropped to under 5%.
Don Sitjaipetch - Thanks.
cassiesmum - Very good video,thanks.
