randy109 - Having a big heart, filled with empathy can be a blessing. It can also be
a curse if you want to reach that summit. Most of us don't know what we
would REALLY do if it was us. I can't judge anyone too harshly because I
wasn't there.
abhishek jaiswal - Everest teach you to live.... stand for you... believe in you... what
lincon did...
Rithik Datta - Unfortunately, Lincoln Hall died just 6 years later, in 2012, from
mesothelioma.
pop5678eye - With all due respect to Sir Hillary, his climbing career was at a time when
there were virtually no other climbers on the mountain at the same time. He
never had to face the same decision as recent mountaineers. He can be all
high and mighty about it, but he never faced that dying climber above 8000
meters himself. Had he chosen to try and rescue Sharp he almost certainly
would have perished himself.
It is a fact that any rescue at such altitudes is a 1-1 tradeoff. On
average, one rescuer dies for one rescued. Which is why it is commonly
accepted among mountaineers that once above the death zone, if you can't
carry your own weight, you are on your own.
Rachel Slater - I love how they put there lives at risk and sometimes fail but only
sometimes succeed
amillionyawn - Can't they eat snow instead of water?
Ryan R - Lincoln Hall sadly died in 2012 due to mesothelioma.
Danijel L - This film should be called: Getting the moron off the Everest...
Rene Pex - It's not so unique. Didn't the same happen to Beck Weathers in 1996 on
Everest ?
lesterclaypool1 - I watched a 2012 documentary about the Andes plane crash and in it they
said that what saved Nando Parrado life though he suffered brain trauma was
his buddies putting him out in the cold because they thought that he was
dead.
Has this knowledge changed from 2008-2012 or does the altitude cancel out
the benefit of the cold for those suffering HAPE and HACE, I wonder?
Kyle Nelson - 26:22 paused bookmark
sinapi4Y - It's a tragedy that Lincoln Hall died six years later of cancer caused by
asbestos.
Eric Coleman - “People ask me, 'What is the use of climbing Mount Everest?' and my answer
must at once be, 'It is of no use.'There is not the slightest prospect of
any gain whatsoever. Oh, we may learn a little about the behaviour of the
human body at high altitudes, and possibly medical men may turn our
observation to some account for the purposes of aviation. But otherwise
nothing will come of it. We shall not bring back a single bit of gold or
silver, not a gem, nor any coal or iron... If you cannot understand that
there is something in man which responds to the challenge of this mountain
and goes out to meet it, that the struggle is the struggle of life itself
upward and forever upward, then you won't see why we go. What we get from
this adventure is just sheer joy. And joy is, after all, the end of life.
We do not live to eat and make money. We eat and make money to be able to
live. That is what life means and what life is for.” ― George Mallory
zarknsaw banjo - who was the guy that gave up his chance to summit and stay with him
CitoAdMeVeni - People who don't have such physical endurance to make it, ho are not
trained enough and experienced, who need 3 sherpas to kick them up to the
Mountain and are not acclimatized and think they can buy their way to the
Everest are just really dumb. It brings a bad reputation to all
mountaineers who approach mountains differently. I admire these sherpas,
they must have known that nobody would go to save them, if they were having
a trouble...
Travel In Beijing - Amazing story
Stuart Grandquist - Thanks for posting this. I thoroughly enjoyed this. I will be attempting to
summit Everest next year. This gave me a insight to what it takes. If i saw
someone alive sitting down in a cave i could not just walk away & turn a
blind eye. Those people who did this are cowards.
guru keerthan - Superb video
jez buttons - Amazing film, beautiful scenes of the mountains. Incredible story of
survival, bravery and generosity of the sherpas, Myles and other climbers.
Very sad though to see comment below about Lincoln's passing in 2012.
ikechukwu elegonye - What has these chaps gained by climbing up and down the mountain up to the
point of losing their lives.
Patty Nielsen - Very emotional, very epic .. thank you for this touching documentary.

climb everest. still they usew sherpas to carry< them up/down and he goes

Three amazing things: Hall's survival, the Sherpas, and the yaks, in
ascending order of marvelous, wonderful cuteness : )
Jamie Leigh - Tears streaming down my face. Not sure why I find true stories involving
climbers so moving and soul shaking. Have several Everest related
documentaries on deck in playlist. Goodnight world.

Dustin Wyatt - It just wasn't his time…what else can you say?
TheGreenViper2000 - Nobody conquers Mount Everest. It invites you and if your lucky, it allows
you to leave.
deepkumar borude - An incredible fighting spirit......... thanks to the team who helped him at
such high altitude, leaving their summit plan..hats off
Suzyanah Hashemi - Check out this video on YouTube:
kc - What an incredible story. For the naysayers, it is so easy to judge and
criticize others. Until we have been in the position of the climbers, we
cannot say how we would react in those given circumstances.
Herbert añari ramirez - Good history!
fashionvictim7 - This is quite a story. Very touching
Solo9562 - He was one the show "i shouldnt be alive"
Monochromicornicopia - Thumbnail looks like a dong in a guy's face
